Lidia Piaseckyj studied art at Music and Art High School and completed a degree in textiles at the Fashion Institute in New York. She later studied with artists Myroslaw Radysh, Ludmilla Morozova, and Charles Alsten at the Art Students League of NY.
Her icons were exhibited at the Ukrainian Institute of America in an exhibit titled "Icon Treasures", at the Ukrainian Mission to the United Nations, and in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, D.C. at an exhibition entitled The Contemporary Ukrainian Icon.
Piaseckyj's works are shown at the annual Grazhda art exhibition in Hunter, NY, as well as in exhibitions in other local galleries.
In her icons, Piaseckyj maintains traditional techniques allowing herself artistic license in color choices, style and symbolism. She uses egg-tempera, gold and silk on wood, often adding other media.
