FAMILY PROGRAMS

Family programs at The Ukrainian Museum are an opportunity for families with children ages 5-12 to learn about Ukrainian culture and arts, participate in a drop-in workshop, and engage in inter-generational learning.

Family Workshops are $5 per family member/ $3 per Museum member.
All materials are provided.

Learn about traditional folk art symbols and motifs in the land where poet Taras Shevchenko was born. Workshop with coloring, painting – create your own ceramic tile or object of your choosing.

Get an up-close look at Taras Shevchenko's watercolors and etchings, then using similar techniques make your own fine art drawing or watercolor.

IVANA KUPALA
Learn about the June traditions and basic elements of the Ukrainian feast day "Ivana Kupala": Mother Earth, nature, fire and water. Explore mystical Ukrainian rituals such as weaving head wreaths (vinochky), and creating straw "Maryna" and "Kupala" effigies.
