Guests wore evening attire and party masks, with a prize awarded for the best mask. The
New Orleans Gala Cocktail Party was catered by Veselka Restaurant, and musical entertainment by Philadelphia Funk Authority. Proceeds benefited The Ukrainian Museum.

Workshop: Identification and Preservation of Photographic Collections
The Documentary Heritage and Preservation Services for New York (DHPSNY), a collaboration between two long-running New York programs dedicated to service and support for archival and library research collections throughout the State: the New York State Archives Documentary Heritage Program and the New York State Library Conservation/Preservation Program, organized this workshop for museum professionals to promote interactive learning, networking, and collaboration. The "Identification and Preservation of Photographic Collections" workshop took place at The Ukrainian Museum, one of five locations throughout New York State arranged by the DHPSNY.
Ukrainian Museum staff members joined about 25 other museum professionals in the day-long workshop, which included several presentations, discussions, and break-out sessions. The group was given a tour of the (then) current exhibitions: Timeless Treasures and Yaroslava.

Ukrainian Heritage Consortium of North America Conference
Preserving and making accessible the rich collections of Ukrainian American archives and museum collections was the focus of a three-day conference titled "Conservation and Preservation" held by the Ukrainian Heritage Consortium of North America (UHCNA) that took place October 27-29. The conference provided a unique opportunity for member organizations to get exposure to professional-level museum, archive and library procedures. This year’s biennial conference was cohosted by the Ukrainian History and Education Center (UHEC) in Somerset, N.J., and The Ukrainian Museum in New York City. |

The Ukrainian Museum and Ukrainian National Women's League of America, in cooperation with
the US-Ukraine Foundation in Washington, DC., held a special meeting with
Ruslana Lyzychko, singer, songwriter, former Verkovna Rada MP, UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and
2014 recipient of the US. Secretary of State's International Women of Courage Award
The UNLWA gave Ruslana an honorary membership plaque.
Ruslana was in New York City as a participant in the Women in the World 2014 Summit. |
